The enquiry
We had worked with this client previously and so when they came up with a design for a disused corner of their garden, they sent it to us to see if it was something we could do. They sourced the porcelain slabs and we had a discussion about the right bricks to use around the edge.
The job
The area previously housed a collection of pots so these were moved out of the way to begin the digging for the paving. The timber was locally sourced and hand cut on site.
Whilst working on the project, the client decided that they would benefit from an extra row of slabs in the front of the terrace, which also performs as a nice step into the area. This could easily be accommodated into the build.
The paving bricks are specialist in that they are an usual size and we agreed that they would be laid on their belly – they compliment the colour of the slabs perfectly and provide a great contrast in textures to the pergola.

What do we love about it?
This was a great design by the client and has created a fantastic, usable space in an otherwise lonely corner of the garden. It shows what can be done with a bit of imagination and ideas of how to get the best out of your garden.
Don't worry if you need to phone and ask something vague. Believe it or not, most projects start with big unanswered questions like 'how long?' or 'would it be possible?'. That's why we're here, just give us a call and we'll give you the best advice we can to help get you underway.
