Project Type:
Pond de-silting
Project Duration:
2 days
The enquiry
A client we had previously worked with asked us to clear their garden pond, which had become very murky with a large silt build up.
The job
Firstly, we spent a day pumping all the water out of the pond so that we could see the amount of silt remaining at the bottom.
We brought in heavy machinery to dig out and move it to another location on site. We continued clearing the silt until we hit the bottom layer of clay.
As the digger worked, we had spotters in and around the pond to find and gently net the fish that called the pond ‘home’. They were moved into a holding tank and remained there until the client had filled the pond back up again.
The moorhens were also very happy to move back into their newly clear water!
How long did it take?

What do we love about it?
A nature pond is a lovely addition to any garden but over time it can require maintenance and care to keep it at its best, both for us to look at and for the various flora and fauna to reside in.
Don't worry if you need to phone and ask something vague. Believe it or not, most projects start with big unanswered questions like 'how long?' or 'would it be possible?'. That's why we're here, just give us a call and we'll give you the best advice we can to help get you underway.
