The enquiry

We were approached by the client’s garden designers who we’d worked with previously. The client had been restoring this beautiful house, central to their village and had a fantastic modern extension built which needed a terrace area and garden to do it justice.

The job

We tackled this in a number of steps which allowed the client time in between having contractors on site and the design to evolve as the client lived with elements of it.

Firstly, we put in steel edging, shingle and prepared beds in the courtyard garden so that the designers could return to plant this area up. We then came back at a later date to lay the huge and beautiful Dijon tumbled limestone paving terrace which allowed the client a useful dining space over summer to enjoy the long evenings outside their fantastic extension area. Finally, we returned to clear the larger garden area, build steps into their annexe and from their driveway, lay shingle and more steel edging/soil prep for turfing and further planting.

Overall, the client is left with the most stunning and modern design scheme which suits the renovation work they’ve devoted themselves to on the main property.

The client’s choice of stone used is absolutely stunning and suits the design and property perfectly. Choosing to work on various aspects of the design over time allowed them the space to plan their budgets accordingly and to enjoy some time to live with the scheme and change small aspects as and where they see fit.
