Project Type:

Sandstone patio with reclaimed wall and step

Project Duration:

2 weeks

The enquiry

We were introduced to the client through another contractor who the client had asked to do some clearance works.

The job

We were asked to pave the area towards the back of the garden with natural sandstone and create a step up towards the rest of the garden. This involved a lot of soil to be excavated and as a result retaining walls were needed to be built. We recycled the bricks used in the wall from a chimney which the client had taken down. In the middle of the patio, the client wanted to have a circular design in the sandstone, known as a circle kit. These give a lovely area of interest and difference to the pattern, which can otherwise become a bit samey in a large area.

How long did it take?

Two weeks

What do we love about it?

The beautiful ancient fossils which are sometimes present in natural paving! We love using reclaimed bricks as they tend to look more weathered and so ‘fit in’ to the environment better than brand new bricks.
